New companionship

November 24, 2014 Cunduncan

Hey Ya'll,
This week My companion had transfers.... haha Elder Coombs left to go be the junior companion in Vereacruz while I am the district leader with an elder named Elder Gilando. Hes from Monterrey and has only 3 months in the mission =) Hes pretty sweet though and Im glad hes my companion. Hes really chill and I am getting along with him really well so far.
Apart from that, weve been working really hard this last week. Im trying my best to be the example that I am teaching to those around me and to those that I teach each week. If I teach it I have to do it... if not, whats the point of me being a leader. Ive realized that I want to be that type of a person and that I dont want to be just a normal leader, but a leader with values that knows how to get the job done and then, on top of that, knows how to act on the things that he teaches. Its not only that way in the mission, but in life as well. And I know now, that this is how and what I want to do and then also the type of man that I am trying to shape myself into.
The only special thing that happened, thats really worth talking about, is the transfers. Oscar came with his daughter Yetti, to church yesterday and they both really liked it. We puta date with Oscar for the 6th of december and are hoping that it follows through. His daughter doesnt live in our area, but we are working on trying to send the missionaries over there also to talk with her. Shes really cool =)
Thats about it for this week, the recordings cover all the rest, so Ill leave it to you guys to fill in the blanks in this weeks events =)
I love you all and I hope that things are all going well =) I wish you a very happy thanksgiving and I hope that you all eat a lot of turkey! I cant wait to celebrate everything with you guys again =) I miss it a lot, but I know its worth it.

Whaddup Everyone!
Well, I don't have that much to say today because of the fact that my district baptized 2 people this week and I wasn't able to be in my area for very long. I was busy traveling to the interviews of these people and I wasn't able to work here... Triste, but it was worth it to see these new baptisms come in. We took a solid 4 buses on Thursday that lasted all over an hour each, and then a couple little conveys and what not throughout the day to get to where these interviews were. It was a crazy day and a lazy day full of traveling. I loved catching up on some sleep though =)
Apart from that, the life of a missionary remains the same. We plan to baptize Hilaria this week even though she didn't come to church this week. Shes been baptized once before but the tristes misioneros lost he record for her baptism.... So, we tried looking for it all over the place. We even called the central offices of the church to see if it was recorded there... Nowhere to be found. So, we have to baptize her again. Nothin like getting your sins washed away twice right?=) I think its pretty schveet =)
Oscar came to church also! Hes such a stud and I cant wait to put a baptismal date with him. He reminds me a lot of dad. hahaha Hes such a champ. He prayed in the Gospel principles class and nailed it. haha I was super proud of him and I cant wait to see him be baptized. Haven't put the date yet, but this week, we plan to put the date with him and his oldest daughter Isis. Shes super sweet too, just needs a lot of her doubts answered about the catholic church =) I am good at answering those ones.... =) If you know hat I mean... haha
Anyways, that's about it. I love you all and hope you have a  fantastic week =) You're the greatest!

Hey guys!
Well this week wasn't really that exciting. Haha I gotta be honest. We have been traveling all over the place this last week for divisions and haven't had that much time in the area. WE did have to the chance to go to Jalpe this last week and eat with a lady named Velia. Shes the mom of the stake president here in Cardenas. She is about 70 years old and said a few things to us that really hit home for me. She lives an hour away but has come to church in a taxi ever since she became a member of the church along with her family. She said, "yes, I have a lot of sons and daughters of high rank here in this church... they 're all great leaders. They have good heads on their shoulders and are well respected by everyone for what they have done. But, the higher they get, sure I congratulate them for all they've accomplished, but also, I worry for them more and more the higher they get." For me this really hit hard. I didn't really realize that being up there in the ranks worries family members... not worry in the fact that they're worried about them being respected or things like that, but worried in the fact that they'll do it right according to what the Lord wants done and not what they want done.To me, as a new district leader I worry for myself sometimes in this aspect. That each district class that I teach will be acording to what the Lord wants to be said and not what I want said. I dont know if this lady meant to come across like this, but she did and it hit me hard. I'm very grateful that I had the chance to talk with her about this.
We went to the graveyard and contacted people while in Canales on Saturday afternoon. It went well, but there weren't many people there. Everything happens on Sunday here. Not Saturday. So we missed it by a day. TRISTE!
Sandalo is progressing and getting there baby step at a time. She told us last night that she is divorced, but has been having a relationship with another man and is somewhat "in love" with him.... in my eyes its just a rebound, but who knows what goes on in this lady's head... haha. Shes a very intelligent lady, but when it comes to addictions, her body takes control of her and doesn't allow her mind to do what its supposed to. Its sad, but I can only sit back and encourage her to continue to do what she knows to be right. We taught about Eternal Families and the importance of baptism in this process. I really hope that what we taught her last night took hold on her and she is now acting on it =)
I love you guys and hope you have a great week this week =) Kia Kaha!
